JASN Online Subscriber Help & Services:

Frequently Asked Questions about Member Subscriptions

  1. Will I receive a password? May I share my password with friends, or is use limited solely to me?

Yes, when you complete the subscription process, you will receive a user name and a password. You are the only one licensed to use this password.

  2. What if I forget my password?

We have instructions for what to do if you forget your user name or your password. Details about how to do this will be included as part of the subscription process.

  3. Why should I get a member subscription to JASN Online?

    Member Subscribers have access to:
Tables of Content, abstracts, full text searching, full text display, document delivery, PDFs, links to Medline and GenBank, future tables of contents, interjournal links to other HighWire Press journals, and the advantage of having password access to JASN Online, including JASN Express from any computer connected to the Internet.
    [Ordering Procedure] [ASN Membership]

Without a subscription you have access to Tables of Content, abstracts, and full text searching at no cost and without having to register.

  4. How can I tell if my institution has subscribed? How do I get my institution to subscribe?

Your institution has the option of purchasing a paper subscription and/or an online subscription. In so doing, you will automatically have access to the Tables of Content, abstracts, full-text searching, full text display, PDFs, Medline and GenBank links, and future Tables of Content. You'll also see a button at the top of the page confirming you're signed in as part of an institution.

If you would like to have an institutional subscription, please urge your librarian to sign up today.

  5. Will I still be able to get the paper version? And for how long?

Yes, individuals and institutions will continue to be able to receive the paper version for the foreseeable future.

  6. Who is eligible for a Member Subscription?

ASN Members are eligible for Member Subscriptions to JASN, providing them with a paper and electronic version of the journal. Members may also have access to JASN Online through an Institutional Subscription. Institutional Subscriptions are somewhat more limited than Member Subscriptions. The special member services are not available to non-member subscribers, and full-text access from off of the institution's network (e.g. home access) is not available. ASN Members are the only individuals who can receive an electronic only subscription to JASN Online.

  7. How can I access the JASN Online if I am not an ASN member and I don't have access through an institutional subscription?

You may wish to apply for ASN membership or you may wish to purchase an Individual (Non-Member) print subscription which provides access to the electronic version. Without a subscription you have access to Tables of Content, abstracts, and full text searching (without full text viewing) at no cost and without having to register.

  8. How do I become a member of ASN?

Information about ASN Membership and application forms are available from the ASN.
